![]() ![]() I could likely get around $400 for my combo if I resold pretty easily. My current PC has a 11700K and I'm considering upgrading to 13th gen, but I know my mobo and CPU combo I use now would be overkill and I could probably sell the combo and purchase a more efficient combo for the server build. It will be a rack mount build with a case that can hold up to 9 drives and support full ATX mobo. I'm going to be building a server as I enjoy building PCs and am excited about setting up a server. ![]() I would like to be able to have 5-10 users with the ability to have at least 4-5 streams going at once both locally and remotely. I have a couple family members that have a profile setup, but rarely use it. I'm using a ds220+ right now to host Plex and it works great. Looking around for some information and there's a lot out there so maybe someone here can help point me in the right direction. Should I return the Mac mini and cry on my way home? □ Should I instead look at a NAS as just a storage device (not running PMS)? Won't there be a slight bottleneck with the NIC/putting unnecessary stress on the NIC? Should I still get a HDD enclosure and use something like SoftRAID to create the drive setup? I'm currently on 4 x 4TB USB drives (JBOD), looking to get a minimum of 6 x 8TB in a RAID 5/6 config for redundancy (not looking for backup, just in case one drive goes bad). I'd preferably like to run PMS on a separate container because I have about 10 people accessing my PMS, and want to have enough headroom for potentially adding more. I've canceled the enclosure order as I won't be able to maintain the RAID setup with the supplied software, and am now looking into other options. I just recently upgraded my Mac mini to the new M2 version (coming from a 2010 model - I found it was struggling to maintain more than a few streams at a time), and I purchased an enclosure with a RAID controller, which I just found out the software for the controller doesn't support the newer versions of macOS (32-bit restriction). ![]() Please go to the relevant subreddits and support forums, for example: Build help and build shares posts go in their respective megathreads No referral / affiliate links, personal voting / campaigning / funding, or selling posts Welcome to /r/Plex, a subreddit dedicated to Plex, the media server/client solution for enjoying your media!
